In 2027 Musica Viva Australia presents a season of beguiling artistic encounters. Seven concerts, performed by some of the world’s great artists.
French harpsichordist Bertrand Cuiller joins the baroque renegades of Van Diemen's Band for courtly tunes and reckless virtuosity; three formidable artists, Andreas Ottensammer, Sharon Grigoryan and Dejan Lazić, share their feelings for Mendelssohn, Brahms and Scarlatti; the Esmé Quartet perform Schumann, Beethoven, Amy Beach and Juri Seo; multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and composer William Barton meets the legendary Choir of King’s College, Cambridge; Spanish piano virtuoso Javier Perianes embarks on a hero's journey; the duo with the most chemistry in classical music perform a pocketful of love songs; and the Vision String Quartet, with the music deep inside them, redefine what a string quartet can be. Be entranced, be transformed. Be in the moment as we step onto the world stage.
